Stellram®
began in 1929 as Wolfram & Molybden AG in Switzerland producing
tungsten and molybdenum filaments and bars using powder metal
technologies. In 1932 production of hard metal was begun and
the Stellram® brand name was born.
Headquarters
were established in 1940 in Nyon, Switzerland. Over the next
50 years, Stellram® expanded throughout Europe by establishing
distribution and manufacturing operations in France, Germany,
Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom. This growth was the
result of market recognition for Stellram’s ability to solve
difficult machining problems through innovative design and
product quality.
The
European tool manufacturer Stellram® joined with the cutting
tools business unit of Metalworking Products in 1995 to form
a single company with world-wide headquarters in the United
States and European headquarters in Germany.
