Turning Grades
Stellram offers the following grades for turning.
Coated Grades
Grade SP0819
The combination of micro-grain substrate with a new generation of TiAIN Nano coating, makes this new PVD coat virtually free of residual stress and extremely hard for unmatched performance.
Grade SP0864
Single layer TiAlN PVD coated micrograin grade. Hard substrate and lubricity layer reduce friction and increase wear resistance in high temperature alloys.
Grade SP1064
Extremely hard single layer TiAlN grade for finishing of high temperature alloys.
Grade SC1519

Product Literature Case Study Product video

A high-performance cast iron turning grade offering excellent wear resistance for finishing to roughing applications. Multi-layer CVD coating.
Grade SFZ
Micrograin TiN by PVD. For operations requiring a sharp edge condition. It is recommended for boring operation.
Grade MP37
Coated grade TiN-MT TiCN-Al2O3 by CVD. Layers thickness 12 – 17 microns. Grade designed to resist heat and abrasion encountered in the machining of steels, stainless steel and all cast irons.
Grade NL25
Coated grade TiN-TiCN-Al2O3-TiN by CVD for all finishing operations. Layers thickness 10 - 17 microns. NL25 is usually recommended for semi-finishing and finishing if wear resistance is required instead of toughness.
Grade NL30
General purpose coated grade TiN-TiCN-Al2O3-TiN by CVD for good wear resistance and shock resistance. Layers thickness 10 - 17 microns. Enriched cobalt grade. Better toughness than NL25, NL30 is especially recommended for medium to roughing.
Grade NL37

Grade NL37 Nitro-Lok UltraCoated grade TiN-MTTiCN-TiN-Al2O3-MT TiCN-TiN by CVD. Principally for machining steels and alloy steels. The coating has excellent resistance to wear. The enriched substrate aids resistance to shock
Grade NL40

Product Literature Case Study

Coated grade TiN-TiCN-Al2O3-TiN, developed for exotic materials and principally, stainless steel. The coat of NL40 grade decreases the thermal diffusion and increases wear resistance. Layers thickness 10 - 17 microns. Enriched cobalt grade.
Grade NL92
Coated Grade TiN-TiCN-Al2O3-TiN by CVD for turning operation requiring a tough edge. Layers thickness 5 - 8 microns. NL92 is recommended for steels and stainless steels.
Grade SP3036/ SP3064
Hard grade with PVD coat, 36 is a TiAlN multilayer and 64 is a Hard-Soft. This grade carries is for light roughing to finishing operations with high speeds. Principal application in exotic materials.
Grade SP4036/ SP 4064

Micrograin with PVD coat 36 is a TiAlN multilayer and 64 is a Hard-Soft. A lower friction coefficient and a lower cutting energy during finishing. The sharp edge restricts the built-up edge damage and gives an improved surface finish. Recommended for stainless steel and iron.
